CHOICE Cafe

We are open every morning from 8:30am for children and parents/caregivers to purchase hot drinks and milkshakes.

Students can purchase drinks before 8.50am, and the coffee machine is on until 9.15am for those of you who want to catch up with friends for a coffee – the CHOICES Room is available with cafe tables and couches until 9.25am,  so feel free to make yourself comfy!

We “hire” in-house Year 6 students to help run the Cafe in the morning which is an excellent way to gain some necessary life skills going forward.

Waitākiri School is an Enviro-School so we encourage everyone to either enjoy their drinks in the cafe or bring their own takeaway cups (we sell these which includes your first drink free). If you do need to use a paper cup, there is a charge of 80c, and we would love it if you would return it next time you’re here so that our Enviro Ferns can reuse them to plant seedlings in our orchard.

Birthday Parties: We host children’s birthday parties (we can only do one a day so get in early) where children can have a fluffy or milkshake before school to celebrate their special day with friends.  Bookings must be made one week in advance and a koha (donation) would be appreciated.
